Asakura Robinson Company provided landscape design for phases I and II of the Beltway 8 / Westpark Tollway interchange. A selection of simple, low maintenance plant materials from the existing Westchase palette was chosen to create patterns that complement the flow of the connectors. The eye-catching design, created on a minimal budget, includes crape myrtles, purple fountain grass and year-round color from knock-out roses. The lower portions of the detention ponds were left as natural wetland areas allowing ample rainwater to collect without interfering with the design or maintenance of the landscaping.
